British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) is the national body for delivering competitive higher education sport in the UK. Its aim is to work with member institutions to get more students active, through traditional competitive sport and providing physical activity opportunities.
Second year Sport Rehabilitation student Charlie is a Sport Scholar at St Mary's and a SIMMSport coach. SIMMSport is a fun, high quality sports programme that delivers weekly coaching sessions and holiday camps for children aged 5-12.
Speaking on his win, Sport Rehabilitation student Charlie said, “A champion is someone who has faith and dedication and doesn’t let obstacles stand in their way. Quitters never win and winners never quit. Training over the last few months has been tricky, especially trying to adapt to the styles of an artistic competition and apparatus. However, being surrounded by my high level coaches gave me the encouragement and resources to be able to work hard and ensure that I could medal in this competition.”
