Two former postgraduate students on the MSc Sport Rehabilitation course at St Mary’s University, Twickenham (SMU) have seen their dissertation research published in academic journals.
Richard Stennett and Morven Goodrum, who both graduated from SMU in 2024, were supervised by MSc Sport Rehabilitation Course Lead Dr Kelly Kaulback.
Richard’s dissertation on ‘Bone Stress Injury Epidemiology and Risk Factors in Female Off-Road Runners: A Systematic Review’ will be published in the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation.
Morven’s dissertation has been published in the Physical Therapy in Sport journal, and looks at ‘Incidence, severity, and risk factors for injuries in female trail runners - A retrospective cross-sectional study’.
Speaking on these achievements, Dr Kelly Kaulback said, “Both Richard and Morven were formidable students from the outset of their studies. They pursued research topics they were passionate about with commendable dedication, which translated into outstanding dissertations.
“Their success is really well-deserved as it took a lot of additional hard work on the back of completing their master's degree to publish their research, so I'm really glad they've been rewarded for their excellent efforts from the start.”
