At the heart of the School of Education's vibrant and leading research portfolio is the desire to lead change in education policy, pedagogical understanding, and outcomes for children and young people.
The SoE has three research centres and a number of special interest groups, overseen by the Research Strategy Group, which takes the lead in strategic planning, including the production of an annual plan. Colleagues and postgraduate research students are most often aligned to a centre, and are also encouraged to engage in the School of Education's wider research activities. We are a vibrant research community, including academics, students, practitioners, external partners, and policy makers. Our research profile is comprehensive, outwardly focused, and aims to improve teaching, learning, and leadership through empirical studies, research partnerships, and collaborative knowledge exchange.
