The focus of the social justice, inclusion and diversity cluster is interdisciplinary and this cluster brings together researchers and practitioners with an interest in social justice issues in theory, policy and practice.
We undertake conceptual, empirical, historical and policy research in the field of social justice and education (formal, nonformal, informal), nationally and internationally. We are interested in issues of social justice – conceptually and practically and seek to build links between scholars, policymakers and practitioners.
Our research explores a broad range of issues including:
- SEN/D and inclusion
- ‘Race’ and inequalities
- Gender and sexualities
- Widening participation
Our research also focuses on the identities of young people and communities, and issues of educational access, quality and outcomes within development and humanitarian contexts globally.
