Do you need to sort finance or accommodation?

Enrol online

If you’ve met the conditions of your offer and accepted it, we’ll email you to enrol on your course online, providing your Student ID number, St Mary’s email address, and another email with your password. Enrolling tells us you’re coming, creates your IT account with us, and forms the contract between us.

If you’ve had your invite, you can complete online enrolment now.

Paying by student loan?

Use your Student Finance Payment Advice to fill in the Student Support Number during enrolment. It’s normally on printed on the second page of your Student Finance Summary, usually beginning with SFDU. Please make sure you’ve signed and returned your Declaration to Student Finance – otherwise your student loan will be delayed.

Is a sponsor paying your fees?

Add their details to the enrolment form, including a scan and upload of your sponsor letter (on headed paper).

Are you paying your fees yourself?

If so, follow the instructions in the enrolment form.

Complete your online enrolment as soon as possible – please don’t wait until you arrive in the UK to do so, as the completed enrolment will give you access to the University’s IT systems.

If online lessons are available for your programme, you’ll have to attend the lessons even before your arrival. You need to be on campus in-person before the last day of acceptance on your CAS. If you fail to do so, you may be withdrawn from your programme and may have to request another CAS and visa on your own expenses.

Please also make sure you view our pre-departure information webinar before you travel and arrive at the University:

Your ‘My Details’ tab should appear

Here you can find important links and manage your data and course options (sometimes including module choices for first-year undergraduates).

System access

Log into your University Office 365 account and set up multifactor authentication (need MFA help?), so you can log into University services. You can then use your student email address – [Your student number]@live.stmarys.ac.uk – for Office 365 and University systems.

It’s worth noting, after you enrol there’ll be a short delay until your modules appear in Moodle, our virtual learning environment.

Get your student ID ready

After you’ve completed enrolment and uploaded a photo through the Student Record Portal, campus Security will produce your university ID card, which you can collect from their office near Main Reception.

Nyah Hawkes“I was expecting this to be a really stressful time but it was the smoothest process I think I've ever been in. The University was so good, they sent me regular emails and made everything so easy. This has been reflective on my whole experience – St Mary’s have helped me through so much. From the get-go, I’ve felt like they care about their students and really show that through their actions.”

All prepared for life at SMU?

If you’ll be living in halls of residence, you can use this guide on what to pack. You might want contents insurance too. Most of our student halls are catered, and you can buy meals in the Refectory. Or postgraduate students in Waldegrave House and Studios may be self-catered.
