Athletes and alumni of the Endurance Performance Centre (EPC) at St Mary’s University, Twickenham have been selected to compete at the European Cross-Country Championships.
The prestigious annual event is being hosted in Turin, Italy, on the 11th December and will see leading athletics talent from across Europe come together to compete in a range of team and individual races.
Current student and EPC Athlete Joe Wigfield has been selected to compete for the Men’s U23 race. Joe was selected following his third-place finish at the recent British Athletics Cross Country Challenge, which served as the trials for the European Championships.
In the Men’s Senior race, EPC Alumni Emile Cairess and Jack Rowe have been selected. Emile, who recently matched fellow St Mary’s EPC Alumnus Sir Mo Farah’s British 10km Record, won the men’s senior race at the British Athletics Cross Country Challenge.
EPC Alumna and Tokyo 2020 Olympian Revee Walcot-Nolan will compete for Team GB in the Mixed Relay. She will be joined by fellow alumna Georgie Hartigan, who will be competing for Ireland.
St Mary’s will also be represented at the championships by EPC Performance Coach Mick Woods who will be coaching the Men’s U23 Team.
