A-level results day is right around the corner but don’t panic because we have some useful tips to help you through the Clearing process so when the 10th of August arrives, you know what to expect.
What is Clearing?
Clearing is the process that allows students to apply for a particular course if they did not meet the entry requirements of their firm and insurance choices on results day.
Top Tip #1 - Register
There are a number of ways you can get involved in Clearing at St Mary’s; if you already have your results you can fill in a Clearing online application or if you are still waiting for your results, you can pre-register for Clearing and the University will contact you once you have received your grades. If you decide to pre-register, we will be able to process your application quicker.
Top Tip #2 – Know what course you are interested in
It’s best that if you call our Clearing hotline, you have an idea of what course you want to do. If you are unsure, a subject area is a good starting point. You can try out our CourseFeed quiz to see if we can match you to your perfect course. You can check which courses are available on the St Mary’s Clearing courses webpage.
Top Tip #3 – Visit the campus
While finding the right course is important, it is also a good idea to visit the campus to make sure it’s the right place for you. There is an Undergraduate Clearing open day on 11th August, where you can meet course tutors and attend student finance sessions. Find out more and register online.
