Dr Andrew Hanson, Outreach Manager at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) presented a lively discussion at St Mary's University, Twickenham, as part of its Applied Physics Cafe lecture series. In the talk, Dr Hanson answered questions such as: - What has temperature got to do with the speed of molecules? - Is it true that a snowman contains more heat than a scalding hot cup of coffee? - Why is there a lowest temperature? - How can you put your bare hand in liquid lead or liquid nitrogen without damaging yourself?
