Wedding Showcase at Strawberry Hill and St Mary’s University

Strawberry Hill House and St Mary’s University, Twickenham are inviting couples considering getting married to a Wedding Showcase on Sunday 16 March 2014 from 11am to 4pm, where they will be able to view both facilities for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Over the last two years Strawberry Hill, Horace Walpole’s fairytale castle, has been a popular choice as a wedding venue for ceremonies and parties. The magnificent Gallery with its walls hung with rich crimson damask and intricate gold leaf ceiling provides a unique setting for ceremonies of up to 95 guests, while for more intimate celebrations, the Round Room is a perfect choice. The picturesque grounds provide a stunning setting for photographic opportunities. A later extension to the original house, The Waldegrave Suite at St Mary’s is an impressive venue for wedding receptions. Its Waldegrave Drawing Room features ornate high ceilings, fireplace and Venetian flooring with capacity to accommodate up to 200 guests, while the Common Room and Billiard Room provide stunning settings for the dancefloor and bar. Staff from Strawberry Hill and St Mary’s will be on hand to provide more information on the venues. The Wedding Showcase will also feature bridal dressmakers, local florists, photographers and other providers of wedding services to help couples plan their special day.
