Later this week, 25th September, Prof John Nicholson at St Mary’s University, Twickenham is to deliver a guest lecture at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb.
Prof Nicholson, Programme Director for St Mary’s BSc Applied Physics programme, will deliver the lecture ‘Minimal Intervention Dentistry – The Challenge for Materials’ as part of a three-day visit to discuss a new collaboration between the two universities.
The Dental Materials Research Group at the University of Zagreb and St Mary’s Applied Science group have recently embarked on a new research study on the physical (mainly thermal) properties of novel tooth-coloured dental filling materials.
About the collaboration Prof Nicholson said, “This invitation shows that what we do on the physics of these materials is valued internationally, and it could lead to exciting placement opportunities for our Applied Physics students.”
