The first floor of the Library is home to a borrowable collection of over 250 educational artefacts, as well as posters, wall charts and photo-packs. They’re great for use in schools - even as props for videos and presentations - and education students can each borrow up to four artefacts at a time. As a resource for students on their school placements, the artefacts are a fantastic way to bring lessons to life by introducing an element of interactivity and fun.
We cover a wide range of subjects and our collection is always growing based on changes in the curriculum and suggestions from our students.
Some of our most popular resources are interactive story sacks. These feature best loved books for young children such as ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. There are also musical instrument sets, music sacks and ‘song mitts’.
Our range of various puppets are great for teaching subjects such as phonics, or can be used to simply engage and motivate children in the classroom.
We also have historical, cultural and religious artefacts, and lots of resources to help with teaching maths, science and languages.
