This is a seminar celebrating the research that education-related masters' students have undertaken as part of their dissertation and the contribution made to current educational thinking. A keynote on 'Emotionally Informed Learning' will be delivered by Dr Fiona Wilson, followed by four presentations on contemporary topics.

Emotionally Informed Learning. Exploring the lived experience of emotionally informed learning radically challenges the position of emotions within the transformative learning process.
Dr Fiona Wilson is a senior lecturer at St Mary’s University, teaching across the postgraduate provision on the MA Programme.

1. The Evolution of Social Justice Coaching. This paper reviews social justice coaching in organizations, exploring its historical roots and cultural assumptions.

2. Embedding Catholic Social Teaching within the community of a Catholic Primary school: Challenges and Opportunities. This paper explores how Catholic school leaders integrate Catholic social teaching (CST) into their curriculum and practices, focusing on human dignity and support for the poor.

3. Exploring the impact of mentoring on trainee teacher resilience. This paper addresses the teacher recruitment and retention crisis by examining the impact of mentoring on trainee teachers’ resilience during school placements.

4. Chemistry self-concepts and their influence on academic performance in middle adolescent girls. This paper explores factors that develop positive chemistry self-concepts in Grade 11 IB DP students at an all-girls school, and their relationship with academic performance.
