Advancing understanding of palliative care: Knowledge, attitude, receptiveness, and the moderating role of media information-seeking preferences - The Case of Singapore

Date: Wednesday 5th March 2025

Time: 3:00pm to 4:00pm

Venue: Online via Teams / G7

With the world rapidly aging, palliative care is increasingly important to enhance the quality of life for both patients and their families. Despite its growing demands, this specialised medical care remains severely underutilised. Given that misconceptions and stigmatisation remain the key barriers to positive changes in healthcare policies, this talk investigates the relationships between palliative knowledge, attitude, and receptiveness with an aim to better comprehend how public health communication can advance the understanding of palliative care in Singapore.

Dr Su Lin YEO is an Associate Professor of Communication Management (Practice) at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business at Singapore Management University (SMU). She serves on the SMU Faculty Senate Committee and is an appointed Board Trustee at the Institute of Public Relations (USA) and Director for the SMU-IPR USA Alliance (Southeast Asia).

A wine reception will follow this event.
