Dear Students and Colleagues,
At St Mary’s we are proud to be supporting Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2023!
Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. Over the course of the week will be a hosting a range of events from streaming talk panels and other live events, hosting a pop-up stall in the Shannon Corridor and a neurodiversity themed exhibition.
With all awareness events, we aim to make sure lived experience is taken into consideration, especially from our students. We are therefore hoping you may wish to be involved by answering the questions below or by getting involved in other ways! Questions we are asking neurodivergent students and colleagues are:
- What strengths do you have that are associated with your neurodiversity?
- What things have you found helpful in university or work in supporting you around your neurodiversity?
- Do you have any comments you would like to make about Neurodiversity Celebration Week?
- Are there any resources, social media accounts or tips you would recommend for other students or staff?
- What would you like others to know about your neurodiversity and how can we be a more inclusive community?
Please note that identifiable information will be removed from quotes we share online or at our events to remain anonymous, unless you specify otherwise. If you would like to contribute to our creative exhibition we welcome text submissions, poems, art pieces, short videos or photos!
Email your submissions to: wellbeing@stmarys.ac.uk by Wednesday 8th March at 9 am. If you have any queries email the address above or call: 020 8240 4353.
Kind regards,
The Wellbeing Team.
