Foundation Year Welcome Event
About the session
In this session you'll meet the Foundation Year team. You'll find out about the kinds of things you will be studying, and how these are linked to the research interests of the academic team. You'll learn about the four core modules, what our expectations are of you, and you can tell us what your expectations are of the programme. You'll also start to think about how your university experience should be different to your school experience, and what kinds of differences to expect in the ways you approach your study, manage your time, and interact with your lecturers. Most importantly, you'll meet other students on the Foundation Year and be able to ask your lecturers any questions you have at this early stage.
Foundation Year Business Pathway Welcome Event
About the session
In this session you'll meet the Business and Commununications Pathway Leader. You'll learn about your two unique pathway modules and discover how they relate directly to the undergraduate programmes you'll be studying following your successful completion of the Foundation Year. You'll also have another chance to meet other students on your pathway before teaching begins.
Icebreaker event in Twickenham Pizza

- Time: 1pm
- Location: Meet at the main campus piazza (View campus map)
About the session
We'll meet in the main campus piazza before heading into Twickenham for an icebreaker event. You'll get to make further connections with your peers, as well as getting to know some important landmarks and history about the local area.

Pre-induction activities
Here's an additional pre-induction programme for students in the following categories. If you feel you'd benefit from additional support, you're eligible to apply to Get Set for Success:
- Students who've previously been eligible for free school meals
- First generation students (the first in family to go to university)
- Estranged students (students no longer in contact with their families)
- Care experienced students (students who have spent some time in local authority care)
- Students who are carers
- Students from Gypsy, Roma, or Traveller (GRT) backgrounds
- Students with academic qualifications other than A-levels (BTEC, diploma, etc)
- Refugees and asylum seekers
