From social media groups to Students' Union events, there's lots of ways for new St Mary's students not living on campus to meet fellow Simmies!
Once you begin your degree you'll soon get to know your classmates you'll be studying with during your time at St Mary's, but there's plenty of other ways to meet other students.
Freshers' social events
There are lots of activities scheduled in the first few weeks of term to give you a chance to socialise and make friends. During Freshers' Fest the Students' Union host a range of social events, including sessions specifically tailored to our local and commuter students.
Social media
Every year we set up an Instagram account for applicants to give you a chance to connect with other people on your course or with similar interests and backgrounds.
This can be a great way to find other students who will be travelling to St Mary's from the same area as you, but also to meet people that you may want to spend time with once you get to campus.
Societies and sports teams
St Mary's is home to countless societies and sports teams that you can join, it's a great way to meet people that share your interests.
You can take a look at the different societies currently set up via the Students' Union website and a list of existing sports clubs is available through Sport St Mary's.
If you think we're missing a sport club or society with, we encourage you to help set it up once you get here!
