Why St Mary's?
After leaving sixth form college, I felt keen to study film at university but felt drawn to my first love, history. Knowing all of my interests and not wanting to limit myself, I explored liberal arts degrees in London, and St Mary’s hooked me in. At the Open Day, after speaking to the academics and getting a feel of the campus, I felt at home.
What's it like to study our Liberal Arts degree?
As a liberal arts student at St Mary’s, I can study and choose to major in, history, English, film, creative writing, and theology — all subjects that I love.
There are a range of assessments that I've had the chance to undertake, for example:
- creating podcasts
- planning and carrying out a walking tour
- making films and posters
- writing literature reviews, stories, and reports.
What are your plans after graduation?
When I finish my degree, I hope to do a master's in global history. I’d love to offer my own interpretations of the past and perhaps become a researcher.
Do you have advice for anyone applying to university?
Consider studying a degree you enjoy, otherwise it will be a long three years.
