The MySMU app changes its user interface. Users will have a new universal navigation (login and navigation bar) with more modern graphics and coherence between Android and iOS.
What are the benefits?
An overall improved user experience, with benefits in interaction performance, such as faster screen transitions, and an improved calendar experience, with a more modern look and new features.
What has changed?
- Navigation bar – This bar is always at the bottom of the app and provides quick access to key features and functions in the app. You can now access the calendar from there.
- Navigation “menu” – This is the three-dot navigation menu in the top-right of the screen. This is where you can share, send feedback and arrange tiles to personalise the app.
Calendar - It is now accessible from the main navigation bar. The calendar has been redesigned to provide a richer and more intuitive interface. Here is the difference between the old calendar and the new calendar.
How to use the new calendar:
- Tap the “Updated…” line at the top of the calendar to refresh it
- Scroll down to see the entire month and swipe left and right to change month
- You can change the default view with an “agenda” view, by clicking the agenda icon on the top right corner.
- You can also access the events calendar to see your favourite events by scrolling right and clicking on the “Upcoming events”.
FAQs
Simply by going to the “Events” tile in the app and favourite events of your interest. By doing so, they will be automatically added to your events calendar on the MySMU app. The events tile will be enhanced during the next year to include a wider range of events.
No, the upgrade is focused on the mobile platform. The web portal calendar will be redesigned next year and aligned with the mobile app.
Once the app is live on Apple Store and Google Store, it should be updated automatically. Users will be logged out from the current app and asked to re-authenticate to the updated version.
If your device does not upgrade the app automatically, visit the Apple Store or Google Store, search for "MySMU" and click on the "update" button.
