Starting university is exciting, but adjusting to a new environment can feel overwhelming. That’s why at St Mary’s, we’ve built a strong support network within our student accommodation. Whether you need help settling in, someone to talk to, or just a friendly face, our on-campus support team is made of senior students that are here for you.

Who’s here to help?

Senior Residents – your first point of contact

Senior Residents are experienced students who live in halls and are there to help you navigate university life. They can offer advice, resolve minor issues, and help foster a welcoming, inclusive community. If you ever need guidance, they’re just a knock on the door away.

Resident Mentors – extra support when you need it

For more specific concerns, our Resident Mentors provide additional support. They are full time staff members who live in the accommodation with students and work closely with them to ensure that everyone feels safe, comfortable, and included in hall life. Whether you have questions about accommodation policies, personal challenges, or just need a chat, they’re available to help.

Student Life Team – here when it matters most

The Student Life Team are members of Student Services who are on hand to help create a supportive, inclusive, and vibrant student community. The Student Life Team are available to guide, support, and assist students with a wide range of queries throughout their St Mary's journey.
