Biography
Experienced journalist, lecturer, performance coach and broadcaster, who won Best Sports Presenter at the 2013 and 2015 Asian Television Awards for his work out in Singapore and India, where he anchored live Premier League, FA Cup, European and international football on Mediacorp, Eleven Sports, SingTel TV and Sony TEN.
Richard is the former editor of the critically-acclaimed Football Punk magazine, investment publication CACHE, Fragrance Du Bois, and the award-winning EX, and he now hosts and produces two podcasts – Footballers’ Lives, where he interviews former Premier League greats about their careers, and Mind Over Chatter, a mental health podcast commissioned by MyMindPal.
Since 2018, Richard has worked as a lecturer at St Mary’s University, primarily on the sports journalism Masters, but also on various undergraduate programmes including Entrepreneurial Journalism, Sports Journalism & Media Relations, and Sports Marketing Campaign. In 2023, Richard was awarded the Walpole Prize for excellence in teaching for providing a platform for students to excel in real world, authentic learning environments.
He is about to complete his Masters degree in Education at St Mary’s, majoring in Coaching and Mentoring.
