Biography

Prins Butt is an accomplished professional with a passion for advancing educational programmes and fostering innovative learning experiences. Currently serving as the Associate Professor and Subject Lead for Computer Science at St Mary's University, London, Prins plays a pivotal role in curriculum development and industry partnerships. His expertise spans various domains including software engineering, data science, and AI, reflected in his leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate computer science programmes.

In addition to his role at St Mary's University, Prins serves as an External Examiner for computing courses at various institutions, ensuring academic standards and quality across different programmes. He brings extensive experience in curriculum review, accreditation, and assessment, contributing to the enhancement of computing education nationally and internationally. Prins has worked in academia for over a decade, developing and leading programmes, and is experienced in teaching specialist topics in software engineering, artificial intelligence, and data science. His leadership has led to significant improvements in teaching standards and student outcomes.

Throughout his career, Prins has continually pursued professional development as evident through his numerous certifications and training programmes. In addition to his professional achievements, Prins is actively engaged in voluntary work, contributing to the software development community through committee memberships and community Q&A contributions. Outside of his professional pursuits, Prins enjoys indulging in hobbies such as art, creative writing, and traveling, reflecting his multifaceted interests and passion for continuous learning.
