Biography
Lucy qualified as a physiotherapist in 2007 before moving to Vancouver, where she completed her Canadian MSc accreditation and worked at Vancouver General Hospital – the largest facility in the province of British Columbia. It was here that she developed her passion for Neurophysiotherapy, gaining knowledge and skills in the management of acquired brain injury, traumatic head injury, and spinal cord injury.
Lucy joined The Wellington Hospital (part of HCA UK) in 2012, working in both the acute and neurorehabilitation settings. She became a clinical specialist after gaining extensive experience in the acute management of patients with complex neurological conditions, including those with severe brain injury and those in a prolonged disorder of consciousness. She was part of a team that implemented early neurorehabilitation into the Critical Care Setting, gaining recognition for its specialist early intervention (including the use of robotic technology) and a patient-centred approach.
In 2020 Lucy gained her MSc in Advanced Neurophysiotherapy at UCL. She joined St Mary’s University in 2022 as a Senior Lecturer on the BSc Physiotherapy course, and she now teaches alongside her clinical work.
