Biography
In 1983, Karen Antiss joined the Metropolitan Police, and her career spanned 31 years. In 1985, she trained to deal with victims of sexual abuse. She was on The Metropolitan Police Sexual Offences Steering Group, which was instrumental in the creation of Sapphire, a unit that investigated serious sexual violence. In 2009, she worked on the Metropolitan Police Trafficking Team, working closely with different faith groups in supporting victims of trafficking. After her retirement in 2014, she became part of the project team that developed and then opened Caritas Bakhita House in June 2015.
