Biography
Jessica has worked in education for over ten years- firstly as a physics teacher in a south east London school, then for the Institute of Physics (IOP), supporting classroom teachers. She initially led the IOP girls in physics programme, investigating why girls don’t take A level physics in the same proportions as boys, before moving to work more widely across the teacher support programme.
She now works on the science PGCE at St Marys and her particular interests are pedagogical content knowledge (particularly in the area of physics) and diversity and inclusion. She continues to support classroom teachers teaching physics through work with the Ogden Trust.
Jessica completed her Master in Teacher Education in 2020, and continues to be interested in the development of teacher educators. She is a primary school governor and a chartered member of the Institute of Physics.
