Biography

Bidisha is a current PhD student at St. Mary's University, London. She also works as a Project and Research Officer at the Bakhita Centre for Research on Slavery, Exploitation and Abuse.

As a PhD researcher, she is currently studying the anti-slavery work of Catholic nuns in the tea estates of North-East India.

She has previously worked as a research associate with the Rights Lab, University of Nottingham, under the project titled 'Prosocial Benefits of Religion: A Case of Modern Slavery.'

Bidisha's research interest lies in human trafficking and modern slavery, indigenous rights, and de-colonialism. She holds a MA degree in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India.
