Dr Shaun Peter Qureshi
Shaun is a palliative care physician academic who has held numerous significant academic teaching and research roles and been an invited lecturer to various national and international institutions. His doctoral research at University of Edinburgh explored how doctors recognise dying patients within the general hospital. As a UK Churchill Fellow, Shaun is developing trauma-informed approaches to care for marginalised patients, through learning from global centres of excellence. Shaun is also co-chair of an educational research working group for the global humanitarian palliative care organisation, PallCHASE. Shaun’s research interests include:
- compassionate approaches to care for marginalised patients including people experiencing homelessness or imprisonment
- access to palliative care
- pain relief in fragile and poorly resourced global settings.
