St Mary’s University, Twickenham was awarded ‘Work Experience Provider of the Year’ at the Spark! annual awards last week.
Spark! is dedicated to supporting young people to make sure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to effectively transition into the workplace. They provide work placements; careers mentoring and help young people develop their employability skills.
St Mary’s were nominated by Cranford Community College, who St Mary’s have partnered with over the last nine months to support students undertaking their T Levels. Introduced in September 2020, T Levels are similar to BTEC courses that include a placement working in a relating industry.
Speaking of the award Head of Organisational Development, Tally Kandola said, “We are absolutely delighted to win this award. We look forward to building a strong partnership with Cranford Community College so we can support more young people, locally, with work experience opportunities.”
