The publication of the 2020 edition of the Sunday Times Good University Guide has seen St Mary’s University, Twickenham achieve rises in student experience and degree completion rates.
In the guide, published online on the 18th September, The Sunday Times found that St Mary’s had risen 20 places for Student Experience to sit second in London and just outside the top 30 nationally. The University also saw a significant increase in degree completion rates, rising 18 places on the table.
The Sunday Times also found that St Mary’s performed well for teaching quality, rating it above the sector average to finish second in London. The findings echo the 2020 Whatuni? Student Choice Awards, where St Mary’s was rated also third in the country for Postgraduate study.
These results come after new employability data from the Higher Education Statistic Agency found that 98% of graduates from St Mary’s were in employment, vocation or further study within 15 months. Results, which saw both the Times and The i newspapers praise St Mary’s for having one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country.
Speaking of the results, St Mary’s Vice-Chancellor Anthony McClaran said, “We are an institution that sees the experience and success of our students as its top priority. I am proud to see the work of St Mary’s staff in delivering this recognised once again by a national ranking, and I look forward to welcoming students back to campus in the coming weeks to begin the next academic year.”
