Earlier this month, St Mary's University, Twickenham hosted the 46th Annual International Conference of the Joseph Conrad Society.
The event, held in the historic Waldegrave Suite, was attended by 58 speakers in parallel sessions.
The Philip Conrad Memorial Lecture was delivered by Prof Allan Simmons, Director of the Centre for Joseph Conrad Studies at St Mary's.
Delegates came from all over the world - including Italy, Japan, Ukraine, Poland, Turkey, Hungary, Greece and America - and enjoyed a silver service Gala Dinner in the Waldegrave Drawing Room.
Dr Kim Salmons - also a member of the University's Centre for Joseph Conrad Studies - said, "Allan and I were incredibly proud to host the event at St Mary's, which is fast becoming the home of Conrad Studies in the UK. The friendly and welcoming University atmosphere was felt by all who attended."
The next event to be held by the Centre for Joseph Conrad Studies will be in March 2020.
