On Monday 21st November 2016, students from St Mary’s University, Twickenham Law Programmes were joined by Jeffrey Bronheim, who gave an insightful talk on U.S. constitutional and electoral issues in light of the recent election result.
Jeffrey, a New Yorker by birth and a prominent financial lawyer in the City of London, graduated from the University of Chicago Law School and has extensive experience working in legal and financial services in the United States.
Following Jeffrey’s talk, students were able to pose questions to him on the potential impact of the presidential election result.
Jeffrey’s attendance was part of the St Mary’s Law Programmes’ Commercial Awareness series, which aims to enhance students’ understanding of current affairs and matters affecting business at a national and international level.
Lloyd Gash, Lecturer in Law who produces and convenes the weekly seminar series, said, “It was fantastic for the students to benefit from Jeffrey’s experience and insight on this topical and important matter.
“Our students were full of questions for Jeffrey, and we look forward to having him back next semester to kindly talk to us about his role as General Counsel at Cheyne Capital Management (UK) LLP.
“The Commercial Awareness Seminar Series has opened a valuable space for students interested in current affairs and their impact on commercial activity, where they can learn about such matters outside of any formally assessed modules. The series will continue throughout the academic year and is available to all interested students.
“Jeffrey commented that he enjoyed the talk, and particularly the discussions with the students following the Q&A.”
