Blog: Tackling Diabetes

World Diabetes Day is on 14th November, and this year the focus is on promoting the importance of screening, in allowing for early identification and treatment of Type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is a huge problem globally, and one which is growing. In 2015, there were 415 million adults living globally with diabetes, and many live with the condition for a long time before being aware of it. This means that many people already have serious complications by the time that they are diagnosed. Take the test here to find out what your risk of diabetes is: http://www.idf.org/type-2-diabetes-risk-assessment The adoption of a healthier lifestyle could prevent up to 70% of the cases of Type 2 diabetes, and Health & Wellbeing Services can help with implementing healthy lifestyle changes within your community, workplace or family.
