The Law Programmes at St Mary's University, Twickenham held a domestic violence practical workshop for second year LLB Law degree students on 21st April.
The workshop was held with family law practitioner Reena Ghai and lecturer in Law at St Mary’s, Jenny Henry. The session examined the measures, which may be taken under family law by domestic violence victims wishing to protect themselves from further violence and abuse.
Jenny Henry said that, “Many students commented that they really enjoyed the workshop as Reena Ghai's experience in this area and her practical tips for making court applications, enhanced their learning and understanding of this sensitive topic.
“Links with members of the local legal community, such as Reena Ghai, are always beneficial in showing students how the legal theory works in practice.”
