The BA Media Arts undergraduate programme at St Mary’s University, Twickenham has donated a TriCaster video production system to Southborough High School.

The BA Media Arts undergraduate programme at St Mary’s University, Twickenham has donated a TriCaster live video production system to Southborough High School. Students form Southborough High School visited St Mary’s on Tuesday 5th May for a live news taster session in the University’s new TV production studio. The session saw the pupils assume various production roles in the studio to produce their own live news reports based around the General Election. Southborough High School also visited the University for a similar session two years ago, including Simran Madhan who is now studying his first year of Media Arts at St Mary’s. It was this existing relationship between the University and the school that inspired the equipment donation. St Mary’s Media Arts Programme Director Lee Brooks said, “We hope that this donation will help to give Southborough's students a taste of live production in their own studio and that we at Media Arts St Mary's can continue to work with them in ours.” At the end of the session, Lee presented Southborough High School’s Head of Creative Media Studies Louis Botha with the TriCaster system. Louis said, “Southborough High School is proud to be associated with St Mary’s. The Media Arts department has played, and continues to play, a major role in the development of our students’ creative abilities.”
