The New Cambridge Companion to Joseph Conrad, edited by Senior Research Fellow for English Dr J. H. Stape at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, will be published by Cambridge University Press later this month.
This collection of 13 essays by international Conrad scholars also includes an essay by St Mary’s Professor of English Literature Allan H. Simmons.
The Companion, identified as an ideal text for students, updates the work of The Cambridge Companion to Joseph Conrad (1996) and provides essential guidance on developments in Joseph Conrad studies, including canon formation, postcolonialism, gender, critical reception and adaptation.
In addition, Cambridge University Press has released a paperback version of Conrad in Context (2009), edited by Prof Simmons, which examines the biographical, historical, cultural and political contexts of Conrad’s work.
Dr J. H. Stape and Prof Allan H. Simmons lead St Mary's Centre for Joseph Conrad Studies. You can find out more about the Centre here.
