Christine Campbell, a Psychology lecturer at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, recently delivered a talk on non-monogamous relationships at the University of Winchester. The talk, called Infinite love: Research on consensual non-monogamy, covered Dr Campbell’s research into the psychology behind multi-partner relationships. During her research, which spans several years, she spoke to people in different relationship structures including swinging, polyamorous and open relationships. The research has covered experiences of jealousy, evolutionary explanations of gender differences in jealousy, and perceptions of and stigma surrounding consensual non-monogamy. She also discussed her most recent research, conducted with her collaborator Katarzyna Grunt-Mejer from the Univeristy of Zielona Góra, Poland, on their project looking at cross cultural perceptions of various relationship styles including monogamy and cheating.
