St Mary’s University College, Twickenham opened its doors to a group of year six pupils, giving them the opportunity to see what a university has to offer

St Mary’s University College, Twickenham recently opened its doors to a group of pupils from Hampton Junior School, giving them the opportunity to see what a university education has to offer. The year six pupils spent the day at St Mary’s Strawberry Hill campus, visiting lecture theatres, looking round halls of residence and hearing from students and staff as part of the school’s ‘Aspiration Day’. Headteacher at Hampton Junior Schools Helen Lockey said, “The day was both inspirational and informative for the children and provided them with an unforgettable experience of university life.” St Mary’s offers a range of different activities to local schools and colleges as a way for both pupils and parents to find out more about what university has to offer. This ranges from subject specific taster sessions to campus visits and workshops for parents. St Mary’s Marketing Manager, UK Recruitment, Teresa Kelly commented, “Days like this offer pupils of all ages the opportunity to really see what it is like to go to university. It gives them the chance to speak to current students and staff and ask them any questions they might have about higher education, allowing them to make an informed decision about their future.”
