Your course
You’ll be taught the latest medical curriculum, in our new, bespoke facilities, to equip you with the skills to meet society’s healthcare needs. You’ll get experience working with diverse people and social structures on a range of placements, so you’re practically and professionally ready for your career. We offer:
- a five year degree in medicine (MBBS)
- a modern, spiral curriculum with clinical placements from year 1
- small classes sizes
- one-to-one support – academic and wellbeing.
We focus on treating, and training, the whole person – you’ll get the skills to protect your wellbeing and prevent burnout, so you can lead with compassion and ensure the best outcomes for your patients.
As is the case for all new UK Schools of Medicine, we are currently undergoing General Medical Council accreditation for our MBBS programme.

Our university
SMU is based in London’s famous (and safest) borough, Richmond. Our campus is set in the grounds of the gothic Strawberry Hill House, surrounded by greenspace and close to the river.
We’re based in the leafy London borough of Tickenham, so you’re close to the city and have beautiful green surroundings – the best of both worlds.
