Turnitin is a service that compares written text against a database of academic sources, student papers and websites to check for signs of plagiarism.
Visit this webpage for step-by-step guidance to setting-up a Turnitin Assignment.
Within Turnitin, academics can use the Feedback Studio feature to provide comments, voice recording, quick-marking and rubrics. All written text assignment in the University should be submitted via Turnitin Assignment 2 on Moodle. Click on the 'Create Learning Activity' button on Moodle to find the Turnitin Assignment 2 tool.
Turnitin can take up to 40MB of file submission and be setup for anonymous marking.
As well as a checker for plagiarism, Turnitin is a learning tool. It can help students to learn from feedback and incorporate it into their writing; to understand how to interpret their similarity report and educate students to develop their own voice and cultivate good writing skills.
