All 22/23 modules should have the 22/23 module template. You will need to import this into your page following the process highlighted here. This template includes: About this module, Resource Lists, Assessment Overview, Assessment Guides, Submissions, Timetable and Rooms, Tutorial, and two predefined Lecture spaces.
These should be configured as follows:
- Fill out module code, name and convenor
- Why are you studying this module? Fill out with content from the module guide, or sufficient to succinctly explain how the module contributes to the student’s overall programme, or what exactly the student will gain from taking this module in isolation.
- Learning Outcomes: Summarise from module guide/validation documentation.
- Communication: Use this space to instruct the student as to how to contact their module convenor. This can include telephone numbers, office hours, email addresses, etc. If the module convenor is on leave, this section should be amended to instruct the student or service staff who can be contacted should there be an issue around this module in your absence.
At the end of this section, if you wish to upload a module guide, you should place it here.
If you do not have a Talis login, or if you need support with your Resource List, please search ‘Talis’ on the staff section of the website and follow instructions to contact the Library team.
This section should answer the question “How are you assessed on this module?” You should include a list of any credited or assessed works, with any weightings. You may include exam or assessment dates as required.
This section should contain any guidance on completing assignments, including exemplars, rubrics, group presentation instructions, any forms students need to complete, etc.
If it would make more sense to create a new section for each assessment, e.g. the module contains two major pieces of coursework with substantial information for each, feel free to create a section for each assignment, e.g. Assessment Guides – Essay; Assessment Guides – Group Presentation.
The Keep on Track section is your go-to place for key information such as where you need to be and when, and how to contact your lecturers and tutors. Here, you can also learn about making the most of your Learning Development Lecturers and English for Academic Purposes Tutors as well as using free software available to you as a student.
All this information has already been populated for you on the page.
This section should contain all submission inboxes for all final submissions. This should include Turntin inboxes, Moodle assignments, and any other credited assignments.
Complete this section with any useful information regarding timetable and rooms. This can also be quickly updated if you have any room changes; students should get used to checking this prior to each session.
Explain to students how to book tutorials, whether using Moodle Scheduler, referring students to a signup sheet on an office door, or emailing.
This is a placeholder for your first week / session 1/ lecture1. Retitle and populate as required.
