Climate change is one of the most critical global challenges of our time. But its effects are felt most strongly in the poorest communities of the world. To avoid devstasting impacts, the world needs urgent action in the next decades, with radical shifts by 2050.
Universities have a major role to play in responding to the climate crisis, not only through carrying out research but also through teaching, community engagement and public awareness.
Join us to hear from Professor Tristan McCowan, UCL Institute of Education and Dr Jackline Nyerere, Kenyatta University about their multi-country project working with universities in Brazil, Fiji, Kenya and Mozambique that seeks action to address the damaging impacts of climate change.
In doing so, the project contributes to the wider task of understanding the role of education in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
