St Mary’s University School of Education is delighted to offer a brand new CPD course for primary, secondary, or special school leaders hoping to evaluate and develop the mental health and wellbeing (MHWB) of staff and students in their settings.
How do you know the mental health and wellbeing (MHWB) provision for students and/or staff in your setting is making a difference? This important question will be explored across two workshops led by Dr Catherine Carroll, Co-Director of the Centre for Wellbeing in Education.
Education settings are currently delivering whole school approaches to student and MHWB which can include an extensive offer of provision. This work is supported by several publicly available resources. How schools measure the contribution and impact of their MHWB provision is less understood. Student and staff surveys can be resource heavy and offer just a snapshot of the contribution and impact of any MHWB provision.
Based on an evidence informed model, developed as part of a research programme exploring whole school approaches to MHWB with sixteen partner schools and colleges, the aim of these two workshops is to support school leaders in developing an approach to measuring the contribution and impact of their MHWB provision for students and/or staff that is relevant to their context.
The School of Education offers longstanding excellence in professional learning, which is affirmed by our reputation for education degrees, active research centres, and 'outstanding' delivery of initial teacher education.
