The School of Education is engaged in ongoing research and knowledge sharing.
St Mary's is proud to work with experts in their field in a range of educational settings. Through continuous collaboration with colleagues in school, we are able to remain immersed in the educational current landscape and responsive to the needs of teachers and schools. This is also instrumental in shaping our intitial teacher education and further professional learning.
Research-informed CPD library
We have compiled research-informed resources in our CPD library to support our trainees, mentors, and other school-based colleagues in developing areas of their practice. We are proud to offer a continuously updated range of resources for our partnership schools. Our resources are grouped into core themes:
The Professionals podcast
The Professionals is a podcast hosted by all involved in Initial Teacher Education at the St Mary's School of Education. Throughout the episodes, the team will consider a range of topics and host a variety of guests to explore the current educational landscape. Each episode contains discussion with expert colleagues in their field alongside prompts for professional dialogue and reflection. These can be used to support training in your setting or to scaffold personal reflection.
Themed talk times
The School of Education is committed to sharing research-informed practice from expert colleagues both at St Mary's and in our partnership schools. Themed talk times are hosted virtually and all interested colleagues are invited to attend. Recordings of our themed talk times are available on this page and also added to our research-informed CPD library. Additionally, if you would like to contribute to a themed talk time to share your expertise, please contact Dr Jane Chambers, Head of School (jane.chambers@stmarys.ac.uk).
