Congratulations to St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College, winners of the 49th London Simmarian Lou Irwin Football Cup. The trophy is named after old Simmarian Lou Irwin who was Head Teacher at St Joseph’s College, Beulah Hill.
The current competition attracts around 12 entries each year from Catholic sixth forms in and around the London area, and has been organised by alumnus Eddie McCluskey (1961-1964) since its inception.
The competition has been in existence since 1970 when St Aloysius College were the first winners, and it was the successor to a primary schools 5-a-side competition which was staged at St Mary’s every summer term in the 1960s.
If you are interested in entering your school in the cup please contact Eddie on eddie.mccluskey@btopenworld.com.
